The End-Time Depression Judgment
In
this message we wish to examine a thought that brother Branham spoke and then
take it to the scriptures to see where he was coming from when he said these
words.
From PP. 100
of the Message JEZEBEL RELIGION
61-0319, brother Branham said, When God sends
forth a message and tells the people, and they don't receive it, then He
withdraws His servant and sends His plagues: famine, death, spiritually
speaking, physically also. You watch for a
depression, brother. You think you've seen something; you just wait after
while. You haven't seen nothing.
You think you're dying for a good spiritual revival; you wait till after a bit.
You just wait, long and cry to hear the Word of God. The Bible said so.
"There'll be a famine in the last days," said the prophet, "and
not for bread and water alone, but for hearing the true Word of God." But
that voice will be quiet in the wilderness somewhere, hid away. He ordained the ravens, His servants. Bless
them birds, His servants, that kept the voice of--of Elijah alive during the
time of his--his isolation from the church.
Now,
there are those people who think he meant a spiritual depression, which I can
understand why they would think that, but as you will see by scripture and other
things brother Branham tells us that there is coming an economic depression on
a scale that the world has never seen before.
From,
Daniel 8:23-25: we read, And in the latter time (in the last days) of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the
fullness (Completion), a king of
fierce countenance (mighty Presence), and
understanding dark sentences (double dealings), shall stand up (shall present himself or come on the scene). 24 And his power (wealth), shall be mighty (vast), but not by his own power (not by his own ability to produce wealth, which
means he gets it from others): and he shall destroy wonderfully (Bring to ruin, pervertion and
corruption), and shall prosper (make great profits) , and practise (bring about a press or squeeze),
and shall destroy (bring to ruin) the mighty (the many nations) and the holy people (the set apart nation of God, The Jews). 25 And through
his policy also
he shall cause craft (deceit and fraud) to prosper in his
hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace (quietness, ease and prosperity) shall destroy (corrupt, pervert and ruin) many: he shall also stand up (stand forth and present himself) against (on behalf or on account of) the Prince of
princes (Christ); but he shall be broken without hand (when the final act is played out).

Thess 2:3-13: ¶ Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day
shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be
revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and
exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that
he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you
these things? 6 And now ye know
what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of
iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be
taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that
Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth,
and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with
all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with
all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they
received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion,
that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be
damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13 ¶ But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you,
brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to
salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Daniel
11: 21-23: ¶ And in his estate (office) shall stand up(rise up) a vile person, to whom they shall not give
the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the
kingdom by flatteries. 22 And with the arms of a flood (or overwhelming political force) shall they be overflown (swept
away) from before him, and shall be
broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the
league [made] with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and
shall become strong with a small people.
Daniel
12:1-10: ¶ And at that time shall Michael (Christ) stand up (Come on the scene and present
Himself), the great prince which standeth for (takes His stand with) the children of thy people: and there shall
be a time of trouble (distress), binding or press upon as to
squeeze), such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that
same time: and at that time thy people (Kinsman) shall be delivered (slip out unknown to safety), every one that shall be found written in the book (genealogical record).
Now, I want you to notice
this next verse because it provides a clue to the time of this great escape.

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some to shame [and] everlasting contempt. In other words,
this will be at the time of the Resurrection. 3 And they that be wise (This speaks of the Wise Virgin) shall shine (send forth light by warning and
teaching and this teaching shall be) as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many
to righteousness (right-wise-ness) as the stars (brothers) for ever and
ever. 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book,
[even] to the time of the end (In which time) many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be
increased. 5 ¶ Then I Daniel
looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of
the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. 6 And [one] said to the man clothed in linen, which [was] upon
the waters of the river, How long [shall it be to] the end of these wonders? 7 And I heard the man
clothed in linen, which [was] upon the waters of the river, when he held up his
right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever
that [it shall be] for a time, times, and an half (time = one, times = 2, and 1/2 = total of 3-1/2 years); and when he shall have accomplished (or brought to a finish) to scatter (the shattering or breaking) of the power of the holy people (God's set apart nation, the Jews), all these [things] shall be finished. 8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord,
what [shall be] the end of these [things]? 9
And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and sealed till
the time of the end.
And when is that? When the
Seven Seals are opened, at that time everything will be in place for the
fulfillment of this prophecy
10 Many shall be purified ("by the washing of
water by the Word", Eph 5:26-7
, Psalm 119:9) , and made white,
and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall
understand; but the wise shall understand.
Now
we see the same scene played out in the book of Luke.
Luke 21:25: And
there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars;
I have been reading much
about the year 2,000 and it is very interesting that in this year there is to
be an event that happens only once every 38 years. It has something to do with
a solar storm, a huge comet that has a long tail made up of thousands upon
thousands of meteorites into the earths path.)
and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity;
the sea and the waves roaring; 26
Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27
And then shall they see the Son
of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And
when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your
heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. 29
¶ And he spake to them a
parable; Behold the fig tree, and
all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know
of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come
to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till
all be fulfilled. 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my
words shall not pass away. 34 And take
heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of
this life, and [so] that day come
upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them
that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted
worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before
the Son of man.
Now, what is this distress
of nations and why is it so perplexing? This is what we must know if we are to
understand why everyone on earth is going to be affected. The word distress is a Greek word, sunoche
which means: a narrowing, a constraining or a press. To hold together with
constraint. To press on every side,
like the forcing a ship into a
narrow channel or the forcing of an animal into a position where it can not
move so the farmer can administer medication. To impel. From this we can see that the whole world is
being pushed or squeezed into a
universal condition from all sides in order to receive the medication called
the New World Order or one world government.
And then we see that the world will be perplexed by this Squeeze. And the word perplexed means that they are
confused and don’t understand what is really happening and thus begin to panic.
(Remember that Brother Branham said that the world must come into a neurotic
condition, and the first stage of this neurosis is anxiety which is to worry
about what might happen.)
Luke
21:26 Men's hearts
failing them for fear, and for looking
after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
We find also
in Hebrews 12:25-29
25 See
that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if
they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more [shall not] we
[escape], if we turn away
from him that [speaketh] from heaven: 26
Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only,
but also heaven.
27 And
this [word], Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are
shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken
may remain. 28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have
grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 29 For our God [is] a consuming fire.
87-4 HEBREWS CHAPTER 3 57-0901M And so
I believe that--that Rosella will finally turn into the mission field somewhere;
because America doesn't want the Gospel (You know that.); we just might as well
admit that. This Anglo-Saxon people is finished; that's all. There's no more
Gospel that America will receive. Oh, you get a few stragglings now and then;
but just as the Gospel, it's over. And you can't even preach to them, can't
talk to them. They won't believe nothing. See? They just got their own
hardheaded ideas, and they're set, and
the next thing's for this nation is judgment. She's going to have it too. It
may be through depression; it may be through an atomic bomb; it may be through
a great plague, a disease or something; but she's ready. It's a-coming;
thousands times thousands will fall.
18-7 THIS DAY THIS SCRIPTURE 65-0219 We had a great
nation; but she is now rottening and crumbling and shaking and giving away, and
trying to tax people to get money to send over yonder to buy friendship with
our enemies. They're throwing it back in our face. One world war, two world
wars, and still moving on to a third one.
Certainly. Politics is rotten, corrupted, rotten to the bottom.
Testimony
63-1128M 20 011 I
was trying to say last night, the
world’s coming to a place it's falling apart, politically, socially,
economically.You say, "Economics? More money." Yes, but where's it coming from? We're
borrowed on taxes that'll be paid forty years from today. She's broke. She's
bankrupt, the nation: not this nation, but all of them. And there's no way ever
getting it back. And it's a trap set
exactly to swing this nation into something. And all of you are wise on
that. Well, who's got the wealth of the world? Who holds it? [Someone says,
"Rome."--Ed.] Sure, it does. Rome holds it. And whenever we do, when
we get broke, instead of these big merchants tobacco, whiskey, and so forth,
like have to get the money; what we'll have to do, either change the currency
or borrow the money. And when they do, it's the birthright sold right back,
exactly, just as perfect, and just what
the Scripture says about it. I'd like
to get a place sometime, the Lord willing, when a tent comes on the scene. And
I believe that's soon now, soon I'm going worldwide. I got a worldwide meetings
coming now. And I--I'd like to get a place where I could set down for about six
weeks, and just take those things and go through them (You see?), back and forth, through the
Scripture. And it's astounding to see
the hour that we're living in. It frightens me. It frightens me, not because...
In my heart, the joy bells are ringing, knowing that the coming of the Lord is
so close at hand. But what frightens me,
is to know that so many is unprepared for the hour that we are facing.
That's the bad part. How many ever heard the story about the squirrels up there
that time? Many, all, of course, I guess, everywhere. A little something like
that happened the other day. And I was... You've heard the story about the
mountains, coming down, when the Lord wrote those things on the mountains the
other day. My, my life... I'm not a
preacher. Anybody knows that. I'm not a preacher. But it's made up in a--a spiritual form of--of watching things and seeing
things move, and forewarning people of things that's coming to pass. And it's
just that's my makeup. I can't help that, no more than you can help your
makeup. But He--God has put us each one in the Body to do certain things. And I watch every little move, every
objective, every motive, 'cause everything is governed by spirit. This church was put here for a purpose.
There's a spirit behind this church. Certainly. Spirit behind your home, behind
every building, behind everything there
is a spirit, motive, and objective. This church comes here to greatly exalt
some human system or something, then its motives is not right; but if it's put
here to try to achieve something for the Kingdom of God, then the motive and
objective both is right, if the motives is directed that way. (
Expound on this way of watching and looking at what is happening) .

{341} The First Seal 63-0318 Now, watch. In the
end time, not in the early days when Christ was preaching, but in the end time,
the last part of the week, where we just took the seventy weeks of Daniel; and
Christ has prophesied for the three and a half years, and three and a half
years are yet determined. Is that right? And this prince in that time is to make
a covenant with Daniel's people, which is the Jews. That's when the Bride's
taken out now. She won't see it.
{342} Notice. In the last
one-half of Daniel's week, the people makes a covenant--this prince makes a
covenant with Rome; makes a covenant with them no doubt for the wealth, for
Catholic and Jew holds the wealth of the world. I was in the Vatican. I've seen the triple crown.. {346} I got to
go all through the Vatican. Why, you couldn't buy it with a hundred billion
billion dollars.
Note: [that was at the rate of $30 per oz. In
the 60Æs. Today gold is 12 times greater in value at $360 per oz. Therefore, a
billion billions would be 1 quadrillion. Multiply it times the difference
between 30 and 360 plus the inflation factor and you have something in the 108
quadrillion range.]
Why,
you... And just think, "The wealth
of the world," the Bible said, "was found in her." All... Just think of the great places, the
billions times... Why did Communism raise up over here in Russia? It just makes
me sick at my stomach to hear so many preachers hollering about Communism, and
they don't even know what they're crowing about.
That's
right. Communism ain't nothing. It's a tool in the hand of God to bring revenge
upon the earth for the blood of the saints that... That's right.
{349} And after the church is taken away, Rome and
the Jews will make a covenant with one another. The Bible said they would, with
the holy people. And now notice, they'll make it, because why? This nation is
going to be busted, and the rest of the world that's on the gold standard is
busted. You know that. If we're living off of taxes, due bills for forty years
from now, where are we at? There's only one thing can happen. That's to call in
the currency and pay off the bonds; and we can't do it. Wall Street owns them,
and Wall Street's controlled by the Jews; the rest of it's in the Vatican, and
the Jews has got the rest of it in Wall Street with the commerce of the world.
{350} We can't call it in. And if we could do
it, do you think these whiskey guys and--and all these tobacco people with
billions times billions of dollars a year and write off all their income tax
for old vulgar pictures and things like that--go out in Arizona there and buy
millions of acres of land--or thousands--and dig them big wells at fifty
thousand dollars and pay it off with income tax? And they'd put you in jail if
you don't pay yours. But they write it off and throw up wells and send
bulldozers in. And what do they do?
They put housing projects in there, and the next turn around with their money
they made (they have got to make an investment) and put houses, projects in
there and sell them for millions of dollars. Do you think them guys is going to
compromise to change the currency?

Like this fellow down here, Castro did. He done the only smart thing he
ever did do then, when he destroyed the bonds: paid them off and destroyed
them. Notice, but we can't do that. These guys won't let us. The rich merchants
of the earth hold it, and then there's only one thing to do: The Catholic
church can pay it off. She's the only one that's got the money; she can do it,
and she will do it. And in doing this
to get it, she'll compromise with the Jews and make a covenant, and when she
makes this covenant with the Jews... Now, remember, I'm taking this from the
Scriptures. And now, when she does this and makes this covenant, we notice in
Daniel 8:23 and 25 he will cause craft to prosper (And craft is
manufacturing.), in his hand.

And he makes this covenant with the Jews, and in the midst of this three and a
half years, he breaks his covenant as soon as he gets the thing wrapped up and
gets the money of the Jews tied up. And when he does that, oh, my, oh, my, he's
called the antichrist until the end of the church age, for he and his children
are against Christ and the Word. This man's called the antichrist. Now, he's
going to hold the money. And that's where I think he'll come in. Just a minute,
while I say this, then I want to go back to it in a minute. He's called the antichrist and will be
called the antichrist in the sight of God until the end time. Now, but then
he'll be called something else. {359}
Now, when he gets the money all under control, then he'll break this
covenant with the Jews, as Daniel here said he would do it, in the midst of the
last half of the seventy weeks of Daniel.
And
then, brother, what will he do? He will have all of the world trade and the
commerce, a pact with the world, 'cause he'll hold the wealth of the world
completely. And during that time, them
two prophets will rise on the scene and call that hundred and forty-four
thousand. Then what'll take place? Then
the mark of the beast of Revelations 13 will set in, 'cause he holds all the
commerce, trade and everything of the world. And what will take place then? The
mark of the beast will come in that no man can buy or sell except him that has
the mark of the beast. Thank God, the Church will be enjoying a great three and
a half years in glory. Don't have to go through that.
E-26 026 You see, if Satan has a kingdom, he's got to
have a false economy. He's got to
have something that he can present to them to make them think they are living.
But it's absolutely on the vice versa side. It's death in the form of life.
6-1 Look Away To Jesus 63-1229E So now, I am going
to say something to you now, that I haven't said all along. And that is, the
thing that we have looked forward to for so long, or at least many years, four
or five years or maybe longer, the third pull has now been vindicated, and I'm
sure you all know what it is. Now,
remember, there'll never be any impersonation of that, 'cause it can't be. It
cannot be. Now, it's in existence, and I am warned of this, that soon, right at
this time now, it's just happened, so it could identify its presence among you.
See? But it will not be used in a great way, until this council begins to
tighten up. And when it does, when that does... The Pentecostals and so forth
can almost impersonate anything could be done, but when that time comes, when the squeeze comes down, then you'll
see what you have seen temporarily, be manifested in the fullness of its power.
See? Now, I must continue in
evangelism, just as I was commissioned first; I must continue on.
Therefore,
you've had the Word, and you know what
to look for, how to stand. I
must continue on in evangelism. And
friends of mine, keep still and just keep moving on, for the hour is
approaching swiftly (See?), that when something is going to be done. Now, you might see some little odd things
happen from me, nothing sinful, I don't mean that, but I mean something odd to
what the regular trend, because what I have reached to now in the ministry, I'm
dropping back here, watching that spot and waiting for the time to use it. But it's going to be used. And everyone
knows that for as certain as the first was identified, so has the second been
identified; and if you'll think real closely, you who are spiritual (as the
Bible said, "Here's to him who has wisdom.") the third is properly identified. See? We know where it is. So the
third pull is here. It is so
sacred that I mustn't not say much about it, as He told me in the beginning.
Said, "This, say nothing of it." You remember that years ago? It speaks for Itself. See?
But
I've tried to explain the others, and I made a mistake. This will be the thing that, to my opinion (I don't say the Lord
tells me this.)--this will be the thing
that will start the rapturing faith for the going away. See, see? Now, I
must lay quiet for just a little while.
Now, remember (and who's
listening to this tape) you might see such a change in my ministry right
away, dropping back... Not going up, dropping back... We're right at the age now, and it can't go any further. We
have to wait here just a minute until this happens over here to catch up, then the time comes. But it's thoroughly identified. There's
coming a time--in this nation, to where
this nation is going to exercise all the power that the beast had before
(which was pagan Rome, when it become papal Rome. See?) that this nation will
do that. Revelations 13 plainly explains it. The lamb came up out of the earth.
The other beast came up out of water, thickness and multitudes of people. This
lamb came up where there was no people.
A
lamb represents religion--the Lamb of God. And remember, it spoke like a lamb;
it was a lamb, and then after while it received power and spoke like a dragon,
and exercised all the power the--the dragon--power the dragon had before him; and
the dragon is Rome always. So don't you see, Roman denomination, a marked
Protestant denomination, an image unto the beast, making a power that'll force all Protestants like a union. You'll
have to be into this council of churches, or you won't be able to have
fellowship ... Well, it's practically
that way now. You can't go to a church and preach, 'less you have a fellowship
card or some identification. And now, on persons like ourselves, we're going to
be cut out of all that altogether. That's exactly, because they won't be able
to do it. It's tightening; and then when that time comes, and the press comes to a place to where
you're pressed out, then watch
(what I am fixing to tell you in a few minutes) watch the third pull then. It'll be absolutely to the total lost,
but it will be for the Bride and
the church.
Now,
we're closer than it seems to be. I don't know when, but it's real, real, close. I may be building a platform for somebody
else to step on. I may be taken before
that time. I don't know. And that time may be this coming week that the
Holy Spirit will come with--and bring Christ Jesus. He may come this next week.
He may come yet tonight. I don't know when He will come. He doesn't tell us
that. But I do believe that we are so close, that I would never die with old
age. Yet at fifty-four years old, I'd
never die with old age until He's here.
See? Unless I am shot, killed, or something, or other, some way killed; just
old age wouldn't kill me, until He's come. And I believe that... And I want to
say this; I have never said it before, but according to Scripture, according to what He said thirty years
ago, thirty-three years ago on the river down there (in 1933, rather), what He said, everything has happened
just exactly. I may not do it, but
this message will introduce Jesus Christ to the world. "For as John
the Baptist was sent to forerun the first coming, so is the message to forerun
the second coming." And John said, "Behold the Lamb of God that takes
away the sin of the world." See? So it paralleled it in every way, and I
know it will. The message will go on.
57-1 STATURE OF A PERFECT MAN 62-1014M this present
government now is spending money for what? For tax money that they'll be
collecting forty years from now. She's done. That's "Life Line" right
out of Washington D.C., across the nation. Taxes, they're spending and trying
to buy foreign... Why, they're just giving it out any way. Don't you see,
that's exactly what they're going to do? See, what is it? Now, if this nation
goes busted, the only thing it can do is go busted. The only thing that it can do is go bankrupt. That's the only sensible
thing to do: change the currency. But they won't do it. Under this present
ministration, Roman Catholic church owns the gold of the world, and what
they'll do is sell out. These rich men and so forth of the earth, as the Bible
said, what will they do before they lose the Brown and Williamson tobacco
company (Most all of them's Catholic
anyhow.), and all these other things, what will they do? They'll accept that
and they'll take the money from Rome, and then she's sold her very birthright.
Rome backs her up. Yes, sir. She'll
back it up. And they're getting enough policy now, getting
enough around them, bring it in his cabinet. Look what Mr. Kennedy's asking for. And when you
seen this the other day... There's no need of voting any more. What's the use
of voting? When they put it in the paper and proved it before the public, and
they refused to do anything about it; when they proved that the machines across
the nation was set up, that they elected Mr. Kennedy by a false vote. Don't the
Bible say that he would come in by deceit? A falsehood. Now, I'm not against the Democrat party no
more than a Republican party, but I'm just stating facts from the Bible. What's
the use of voting? They know who's going in there.

Philadelphian Church Age CA Book "I
will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the
world, to try them that dwell upon the earth." This verse is not a declaration
that the true church will go into and through the tribulation. If it meant that
it would have said that. But it said, "I will keep thee from the hour of
temptation." This temptation is exactly like the temptation in Eden. It
will be a very inviting proposition held up in direct opposition to God's
commanded Word, and yet from the standpoint of human reasoning it will be so
very right, so enlightening and life-giving as to fool the world. Only the very
elect will not be fooled. The temptation will come as follows. The ecumenical
move that has started on what seems such a beautiful and blessed principle
(fulfilling Christ's prayer that we all might be one) becomes so strong
politically that she bears pressure upon the government to cause all to join
with her either directly or through adherence to principles enacted into law so
that no people will be recognized as actual churches unless under direct or
indirect domination of this council. Little groups will lose charters,
privileges, etc., until they lose all property and spiritual rights with the
people.
For
example, right now unless the local ministerial association approves in many,
if not most cities, one cannot rent a building for religious services. To
become chaplains in the armed services, hospitals, etc., it is now almost
mandatory to be recognized as acceptable to the trinitarian ecumenical groups.
As this pressure increases, and it will, it will be harder to resist, for to
resist is to lose privilege. And so many will be tempted to go along, for they
will feel it is better to serve God publicly in the framework of this
organization than not to serve God at all publicly. But they err. To believe
the devil's lie is to serve Satan, even though you may want to call him
Jehovah. But the elect will not be deceived.
Furthermore, the elect will not only be kept, but as this move becomes
the "Inage erected to the beast," the saints will be gone in the
rapture. And this little delightful, winsome movement that started out in
fellowship at Ephesus will become the monster of Satan that defiles and
deceives the whole world. For the church system of the Roman Catholic and the

Ever who sees the Holy Ghost, that you're supposed to receive It, and
don't do it, automatically you take the mark of the beast; because there's only

beast. So to receive the Seal of God is to receive the Holy Ghost. To reject It

wonder tonight, if Christ would come on the scene, or over the nation today, in
drawing this nation to judgment, if that same question wouldn't been asked. Why
is it, is it? Why is it we're doing these things? Why are we fussing in the
government, whether we should read the Bible in public, and, why, if we're
reading all this nonsense? Did not our forefathers set this constitution in
order? Did not this nation be born upon the principles of the Bible? Aren't we
here for freedom of religion, to act in God the way we feel fit to act, the way
that we are convinced is truth? But, you see, we have done something like they
did then. We're just letting everything, politics swallow us up, in the stead
of respecting our faith in our God, and men who has stood for truth. And we are
letting our politics run over that, and voting in such stuff that's polluting
this nation, and why, we are coming to a judgment. God will rise on the scene
someday with a mighty prophet, speak in this generation, and--and tell people,
and they'll see that it's God speaking, but they won't repent. It'll be just
like it was then. He said, "Is there no God in Israel? Is it because there
is--is no God?" Same as Jeremiah said, "Is there no balm in Gilead?
Is there no physician there?" Then they--they could not answer that.
'Course there was. Well, He said, "Then, why, why did you do it? Why is
the daughter of My people not healed?"
Now,
we wonder that tonight. Why? Is there no Bible? Is there no God? Is there no
difference? If God is going to bring the people to judgment, He has got to have
something to judge them by. There's got to be some standard. If He's going to
judge them by the Catholic church; then if they judge them by the Roman church,
the Greek church is lost, the other Catholic churches are lost. If He judged it
by the Greek, the Roman's lost. If He judged it by the Lutheran, the Methodist
is lost. If He judged it by the Methodist, the Lutheran's lost. He can't judge
it by a church; there's too many different organizations of it. But God will
judge the world, He said, by Jesus Christ. And Jesus Christ is the Word, and the
Word is God. And He'll judge them by this Bible, for this is the Word. That is
God's Standard. We must measure up to what the Bible says. And we wonder why we
got so much confusion, so many organizations, so much differences, separating
brotherhood, and--and everything. It's because there is no Balm in Gilead? Is
it because there's no physician there? I wonder if God would ask us that
question?
